The purpose of this one-hour workshop is to introduce participants to the teaching strategies that were created at Philips Exeter Academy by Dr. Lewis Perry and Edward Harkness.
In a Harkness classroom, students are required to come to class prepared to participate in discussion based, collaborative learning experiences. There are no lectures. Students learn to interact with others, listen carefully, and speak respectfully. In their exploration of literary and visual texts, they are also challenged to work, collectively, through the fear of being wrong in the pursuit of important ideas.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS WORKSHOP IS INTENDED FOR NO MORE THAN 12 PARTICIPANTS.
